BoldProgressives.org Alert from Adam Green

LIEberman Alert!! LIEberman Alert !!

Here ya go......
Joe Lieberman announced yesterday he'll help Republicans kill any real health care reform.
Can you join 145,000 others in telling Democratic leaders to punish Joe Lieberman now?
Laura Lynne,
Sen. Joe Lieberman announced Sunday that he will join Republicans in blocking a vote on any real health care reform bill -- including any public option and even the fake "compromise" floated last week.
The Washington Post's Ezra Klein writes, "At this point, Lieberman is just torturing liberals. That is to say, he's willing to directly cause the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in order to settle an old electoral score."
Enough is enough. Can you join 145,000 others in telling Democratic leaders to punish Joe Lieberman by taking his committee chairmanship? Click here.
Lieberman was asked if he'd accept losing his powerful committee chairmanship as a consequence of blocking reform, and he answered, "Oh, God no." Our message to Sen. Harry Reid and other Democratic leaders says:
"Any Democratic senators -- including Joe Lieberman -- who support a Republican attempt to block a vote on health care reform should be stripped of their leadership titles. Americans deserve a clean up-or-down vote on health care reform that includes a public option."
Sign the petition here - we'll deliver it to Senate Democrats.
Today, we are releasing a new poll with Howard Dean's Democracy for America that shows wide support for our petition:
Democratic voters think Senate Democrats should take away Lieberman's chairmanship by 81% to 10%. Independents also support it by 13 points.
Democratic voters want Senate Democrats to use "reconciliation" by 73% to 13%. This requires just 51 votes to pass reform instead of 60, bypassing Lieberman.
Voters favor Howard Dean's "We Can Do Both" proposal (a public option PLUS a Medicare buy-in for ages 55-64) by 57% to 32%. Among Independents, it's 56% to 28% (2 to 1).
84% of Democratic voters want progressive primary challengers to congressional Democrats who oppose a public option.
This poll is being reported by many news outlets. Now, we need to back it up with grassroots action.
Can you join 145,000 others in telling Democratic leaders to punish Joe Lieberman? Click here.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.

REQUEST from Our Friend Jane Hamscher at FireDogLake

This is an issue I feel passionately about. I have always directed a good deal of our donations to benefit this worthy cause. However, not only will I not contribute another dime directly, I will also not indirectly contribute by actively boycotting all that gimmicky "buy pink" products that flood the market in October until Mrs. LIEberman is disassociated with your organization, and I will actively encourage others to do so as well. ...@LLPrater

Here ya go.....
Thanks so much for signing our petition asking the Susan G. Komen foundation to remove Hadassah Lieberman as a "global ambassador" for the organization.

Forward the email below to your friends and family and ask them to do the same.

Thanks!

Hi,

Are you aware that the wife of Joe Lieberman - the man who once campaigned to eliminate the filibuster but is now threatening to use it against a public option - is a compensated "Global Ambassador" for Susan G. Komen for the cure?

As the world's biggest breast cancer charity, Susan G. Komen for the cure has thrown considerable weight behind ensuring that any reform bill that comes out of Congress serves to improve the lives of their dependents.  So why is Susan G. Komen for the cure using donations to pay the salary of Hadassah Lieberman, wife of Joe Lieberman, who pledged to kill any bill including a public option?

Will you sign our letter to Susan G. Komen for the cure, asking for Mrs. Lieberman to step down as a compensated "Global Ambassador?"

http://action.firedoglake.com/hadassah

Sign our letter to Susan G. Komen for the cure today:

"Mrs. Lieberman's relationship with Susan G. Komen for the cure is unethical and misleading.  Important and often very personal donations made to Susan G. Komen for the cure to benefit the sick and dying are essentially undermining their intended use.  And as Hadassah travels the globe under the banner of Susan G. Komen for the cure, decrying the inadequecies of our health care system and the desperate need to reform it, her husband is at home to kill the reform efforts we so desperately need.

I call for Susan G. Komen for the cure to ask Hadassah Lieberman to step down as a "Global Ambassador" for the organization in light of the inherent conflict of interest her continued presence brings."

Join us in calling on Susan G. Komen for the cure to remove Mrs. Lieberman as a compensated "Global Ambassador."

It's time for progressives to stop negotiating with themselves. Can you call Sens. Boxer and Feinstein right now and tell them to do whatever it takes to pass real health care reform with the public option that the majority of Americans want?

Report your call
Dear MoveOn member,
Last week a handful of senators announced a deal on health care. Here's the catch: Almost no one knows what's in the deal yet-the only thing we do know is that it kills the heart of reform, the public option.
Rumors are flying about what exactly is in the deal, but lots of folks have latched on to the idea that the deal might allow some people over the age of 55 to buy into Medicare. The problem is, nobody knows if the Medicare premiums will be affordable and the program could be limited to very few people, so it's dangerous to assume it's great news.
Moreover, allowing a few folks to buy into Medicare won't accomplish the main goal of the public option: to provide competition to keep insurance companies honest and lower costs.1
The worst part? Democrats gave away the public option to appease conservatives. But Joe Lieberman and Ben Nelson are already threatening to block this watered down deal.2
It's time for progressives to stop bargaining with themselves. We need Senate Democrats to fight for the majority of voters who want a public option-and not let a few out-of-touch conservatives gut real reform. Can you call Sens. Boxer and Feinstein right now and tell them to do everything in their power to pass a bill with a public option and not to let a few senators hold health care reform hostage?
Senator Barbara Boxer
Phone: 202-224-3553

Senator Dianne Feinstein
Phone: 202-224-3841
Then, please report your call by clicking here:
http://pol.moveon.org/call?tg=FSCA_2.FSCA_1&cp_id=1206&id=18268-17446569-F.oGjUx&t=3 To be clear, some of the ideas that were floated could be good ones-but in addition to a strong public option, not as a replacement for it. Expanding Medicare could give lots of people an affordable choice for quality care-if it's done right. But that's a big if, and it's a big mistake to embrace a compromise without knowing the details.
Even if all the rumored reforms turn out to be as good as possible (which is pretty unlikely), allowing some folks over 55 to buy in won't provide the competition that a public option will to keep insurance companies honest. And folks under 55-who will be required to buy insurance after reform passes-will still be left with no choice other than the big private insurers.
As long as there are no real consequences for conservatives' obstructionism, they'll keep demanding more and more concessions. It's time for Democrats in the Senate and the White House to be more aggressive by stripping Sen. Lieberman of his committee chairmanship, forcing the conservative senators to publicly stand with the Republicans so voters know whose side they're on, or even pushing health care reform through the reconciliation process, where they'd only need 50 votes.
Sens. Boxer and Feinstein need to know that voters in California will have their back if they keep fighting for the public option. Can you call them right now and tell them to reject the "compromise" and do whatever it takes to pass the bill with the public option?

Here Ya go..............

Mobilization Email Update ALERT!!

Here ya go folks...Let's get out there and get fired up!

Dear Laura Lynne,

On Human Rights Day 2009, we made the demand for the right to health care loud and clear at Senator's offices across the country. In New York City, 9 people were arrested at Sen. Schumer's office declaring that Medicare for some is not good enough - we need Medicare for All. Rallies, vigils, and demonstrations happened in 20 places asking Senators to get behind the right to health and support Medicare for All.

Across the country, physicians, nurses, and patients are standing up for their right to health, by sitting down. Read Dr. Laura Boylan's statement on why she risked arrest here -http://mobilizeforhealthcare.org/2009/12/11/dr-laura-boylan-demanding-medicare-for-all-arrested-at-schumer-protest/

In Washington DC, the Mobilization for Health Care for All delivered letters to Senate offices. The letters were attached to the backs of large cutouts of bodies, much like the chalk outlines seen at a murder scene. The number of adults who die each year in that Senator's state was printed on the front of the body with the words that there would be this number of fewer deaths if we had a Medicare for All health system.

Some of the Senate staffers reacted strongly to the appearance of the bodies, which was the intention. It is imperative that members of Congress and their staff understand the magnitude of suffering and death that would be prevented if they took steps to pass Medicare for all.

Senator Reid's Deputy Chief of Staff, David McCallum, met with the delegation that brought the body to his office. The group implored Mr. McCallum to, at the very least, give the majority of Americans who support Medicare for all the right to have S.A. 2837 debated on the floor of the Senate. We still have yet to see if this demand will be met. You can continue to voice your support for this debate by calling and writing your Senators today. Use Healthcare-NOW!'s click to call system here (http://tools.advomatic.com/35/hc-n/).

Serendipitously, the Mobilization for Healthcare for All was contacted by the daughter of Senator Phil Hart, for whom the building is named, on the day before the rally. She stated that International Human Rights Day was also her father's birthday and that he would have supported single payer, as she does.

The movement for single payer continues to grow and become more visible daily. It is unacceptable that at least 120 people die each day in the United States from lack of access to health care. This magnitude of suffering and death does not occur in any other industrialized nation.

We must continue to build the movement strong enough to demand that the profit-making insurance companies get out of our the system so that we can have the debate we need on Medicare for All. The evidence is clear that a single-payer national health care system is most humane, cost-effective way to provide quality, equitable health care to everyone in this country. Nothing less will do.

There are coalitions and organizations working on single-payer across the country. As we move into the holidays, and follow the unveiling of a health care bill that contains unfair mandates, unjust subsidies to the private insurance companies, and a unsustainable solution to the health care crisis, we must keep working for what we know is right. Join the work that is building and pushing forward across the country.

The Mobilization will continue to support actions where you can help happen. Please contact us at info@mobilizeforhealthcare.org if you want to plan an action supporting Medicare for All - info@mobilizeforhealthcare.org or call 1-800-453-1305.

Together in the struggle,

The Mobilization Team

Event Alert from Dan Hodges

From: actforsinglepayer+owner@googlegroups.com [mailto:actforsinglepayer+owner@googlegroups.com]

Dear List Members for ActforSinglePayer/Mobilization for Health Care for All:

Mark your calendar: * Saturday, Jan. 30 * there will be a Big Meeting to gather the whole Bay Area Direct Action for Single Payer tribe to make plans for future actions.

Despite
* the great track record of actions in our brief but glorious history (sit-in at Blue Shield, occupation of Pelosi's office, die-in last Saturday at the Ferry Building)
* the expressed interest of many people from many different organizations and scenes in taking strong action for health care we can believe in, and
* the need for a strong voice for single payer to continue in the coming year,
attendance at our evening meetings has been dwindling.

Meanwhile, whatever mess happens at the federal level, single-payer activists and progressive California legislators will be putting on a big push to pass single-payer in California (a third time) in 2010.

So the spirited group of die-hards that has been coming to meetings is going to plan a lively, interesting, motivating, and inclusive meeting to bring us all together again and get ready for more action. You won't want to miss it! In addition to the 80 or so people on this list, more than 100 (I think maybe more like 200, sorry I don't remember more specifically) Bay Area people signed up to take direct action on single payer through the web site of the national Mobilization for Health Care Now. There are a lot of us -- so let's organize! Tell your friends, comrades, allies, etc. Details to follow in future emails.

In other news:

* January 11 (a Monday) the traditional annual medical and nursing students' Sacramento rally for single payer will be joined this year by lots of other organizations  (Health Care for All California, Single Payer Now, CNA, CTA, CSEA, California Alliance of Retired Americans, League of Women Voters, Council of Churches, Wellstone Democratic Club, and more) to make a huge presence for single payer at the Capitol. Many of us have to work, but if you can possibly attend, it will be a great experience and your presence will make it greater. There will be buses leaving from the Bay Area -- details to follow on that too.

BENEDICT LIEberman: Payback's a BEYOTCH!!!

The Progressive.Org Anti-LIEberman ad is a gem!! Gonna give us giggles for some time to come....Let's Help keep it on the air!!

Our new ad targeting Joe Lieberman is making big waves -- from the New York Times to Rachel Maddow to Connecticut media.
Click here to see Rachel Maddow feature our ad -- and then, please chip in $5 to help keep it on the air.
Laura Lynne,
Wow. One day after announcing our new TV ad pressuring Sen. Joe Lieberman on public option, the momentum is  tremendous.
Rachel Maddow played our Lieberman ad on national TV and said, "That's what it looks like when liberals push back!" Dozens of other media also reported on our ad. (See media links below.)
Nearly 2,000 people chipped in to help air this ad -- and now, we're aiming to expand our buy in DC. Can you chip in $5 today? Click here.
News broke yesterday that progressive and conservative senators are meeting to strike a final deal on health care and that Lieberman thinks his obstruction makes him "relevant." By expanding our ad in DC, we can tell other senators to ignore Lieberman -- he's not even representing his own constituents.
Check out this example of Lieberman's arrogance, in direct response to our TV ad. From the Washington Post's Greg Sargent:
A spokesman for Joe Lieberman, whose talent for annoying liberals seems to have grown exponentially in the heat of the health care fight, is now responding to a liberal group's new ad hammering the Senator by dismissing the public option as the "agenda of narrow ideological interest groups."
Seriously? 68% of Connecticut voters who support the public option are a "narrow ideological interest?" This guy deserves to feel more heat.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

Mobilization for HealthCare for ALL Update

Dear Laura Lynne:

The Mobilization for Health Care for All ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794230/28803/goto:http://mobilizeforhealthcare.org/upcoming-actions/ ) is escalating the effort for real health care reform.

This Thursday, on International Human Rights Day, the Mobilization will have 18 actions in 13 states and Washington, DC ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794231/28803/goto:http://mobilizeforhealthcare.org/upcoming-actions/ ). (Support these efforts by clicking here ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794232/28803/goto:https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1312/t/10007/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=5338 ).)

We are making the point that health care is a human right - that means everyone should have access to health care.

This is not just a nebulous right, but a life and death issue. We all know that 45,000 people die in the United States because of lack of access to health care. And, we know that more than a million have gone bankrupt due to health care problems. If we met the human rights standard of providing health care to all then these problems would diminish greatly.

These Mobilization actions ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794233/28803/goto:http://mobilizeforhealthcare.org/upcoming-actions/ ) will urge support for Sen. Bernie Sander's single payer amendment. And, we are also telling the senate to allow states to put in place a state-level single payer system. We know improved Medicare for All is the solution to the health crisis in America and we will continue to advocate for it.

Please support our efforts ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794234/28803/goto:https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1312/t/10007/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=5338 ). We are not going to give-up and accept the inadequate bills being considered in Congress. The problems in American health care will continue even if the best of these bills pass. We know that in order to get real health care reform that ongoing organizing will be essential.

We are not going to stop but cannot build the movement needed without your support. Click here to donate now ( http://e2ma.net/go/6557553120/208058568/209794235/28803/goto:https://salsa.democracyinaction.org/o/1312/t/10007/shop/custom.jsp?donate_page_KEY=5338 ).

Dear Laura Lynne:

The idea of a Medicare for All type, single-payer healthcare system will be heard on the Senate floor.  This week, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont filed Senate Amendment No. 2837, and there are two additional original co-sponsors of this amendment, Senator Roland Burris of Illinois and Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio.

The idea that healthcare is a basic human right that could and should be delivered to each and every person in this nation is not a new one.  Our President knows that; our Congress knows that.  But this struggle to reform the broken, profit-driven system has carried us a very long way from the spot that would allow us to finally extend that basic human right to all.

We've drifted off to talking about excise taxes and insurance exchanges and bending the cost curves.  Amendment 2837 brings us back to the basics.

What's in a number? 45,000 people die every year in this nation without access to healthcare.

Medicare has its flaws, but overall it has provided seniors and the disabled with the best access to care that this nation could offer since the 1960s. But the rest of us have not been so lucky with our access to healthcare.  Among those not covered by Medicare or the VA, the numbers of unnecessary deaths have soared; personal bankruptcies due to medical crisis have soared.

What is a number? Poverty among seniors has dropped more than 60 percent since the adoption of Medicare.

The healthcare reform effort has largely ignored the single-payer solution. Public financing and private delivery of healthcare through a Medicare for All type system would be an elegant, cost effective and proven way to fix much of what is broken while retaining that sense of personal choice over healthcare decisions that Americans value so highly. Yet, the discussion has been muted by the powerful profit-based insurance and health industry interests that stand to gain so very much by expanding and entrenching their hold over the U.S. healthcare system through this reform process.

What's in a number? Millions of Americans file for personal bankruptcy - one every 12 seconds - because medical crisis hit them too hard. And of those bankrupt folks, two-thirds had health insurance.

The time draws short to weigh in clearly with your Senators. And with a yes vote on this amendment, Senators send us the message that they heard us, that they will keep fighting with us until the day when this nation no longer leaves the weak, the sick and the poor behind in the delivery of its most basic human rights.

Call your Senators. ( http://e2ma.net/go/6555859480/208056560/209759156/28803/goto:http://tools.advomatic.com/35/sanders ) Tell them you want them to vote for Senators Sanders, Burris and Brown's amendment number 2837. What's in a number? Everything. Senate Amendment No. 2837. Everyone in, nobody out.

What Are We Fighting For?

This is still a work in progress. It's a twisted little ditty that is the result of listening to 1970 Atlantic Recording Corporation's release of Original Soundtrack of WOODSTOCK and a lot of pain medication (dentist)! It was inspired by and is sung to the song by Country Joe McDonald entitled the "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin-To-Die Rag" Props to both for being my muse! Let me know what you think PLEASE...Don't want to submit it if it's lame!

WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR?

Gimme a B! Gimme a U! Gimme an S! Gimme an H! What's that Spell? BUSH!! (repeat for all eternity)
Well C'mon all of you Servicemen,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
Got All of US in a terrible jam,
Out in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Say goodbye to your world, and pick up a gun,
But it'll be ANYTHING but fun.
(CHORUS #1)
And it's 1,2,3...What are we fighting for?
Kept asking, Bush don't give a damn,
Next stop is Pakistan.
And it's 5,6,7...Open up those Fiery Gates,
Now, take some time, and wonder why,
Or Whoopee! We're all gonna die.
(VERSE #2)
Ya screwed up Wall Street, You were slow,
Why, Bush's War was a GO GO!
Plenty New Jobs, WE coulda ALL got paid,
Supplying the People with the tools of the trade.
JUST HOPE AND PRAY, AS THEY DROP THE BOMBS,
It's on Al-Qaeda and the Taliban!
(CHORUS #2)
And it's 1,2,3...What are we fighting for?
Democracy? Bush don't give a damn!
IT'S THE PIPELINE AND THE HEROIN!!
And it's 5,6,7...Open up the Fiery Gates.
Now, take some time to wonder why,
Or Whoopee, we're all gonna die.
(VERSE #3)
C'mon Generals, don't move fast,
Grab the dope and the cash while it still lasts.
Now, you can go out and get "Achmed",
Cuz the only good terrorist is one that is dead.
And Corporate "piece" can only be won,
When you've blown them all to Kingdom Come...
SING IT! (REPEAT CHORUS #2)
(VERSE#4 SPOKEN)
Listen People, I don't know how we ever expect to change the world or end the wars if we can't lift our voices together any better than this? There are about 300 million of our Countrymen here and WE NEED TO START ASKING OUR GOVERNMENT WHY??? C'mon!
(CHORUS #3)
And it's 1,2,3...What's TRULY WORTH fighting for?
OUR COUNTRY, and I DO give a Damn,
Obama will you be our man?
And it's 5,6,7...Close Bush's Fiery Gates.
Now, take some time and find out why,
Or, Whoopee! We're all gonna die.
(verse #5)
Act Now Mothers, throughout the Land,
Keep them outta Iraq and Afghanistan.
C'mon Fathers don't hesitate, get your kids back,
Before it's too late!
Don't trade your kids for Headstone Blocks,
Because they were sent home to you in a box!
(CHORUS#4)
And it's 1,2,3...What is TRULY WORTH fighting for?
OUR COUNTRY, and I DO give a damn,
Bring them Home, Rebuild our Land.
And it's 5,6,7...Put a Hammer in their Hand,
Now, you've taken time, and found out why,
So tell me, Why must they still die?

Petition Action From Rep. Anthony Weiner

Dear Laura Lynne,

Last week, we made a great first step in the House of Representatives, but now all eyes are on the Senate to pass a bill that includes a public option.

It's going to be a close vote and a senator from Connecticut is one of the key votes blocking this important legislation. Senator Joseph Lieberman says that doing nothing would be better than a public option.  He has even threatened to block a final vote that includes one.

We need to get to 100,000 signatures for the public option today so we can show Senator Lieberman that the American people want affordable, quality health care. They want a public option.

We are close to reaching our goal and you can push us over the top, but I need your help to stand up to Senator Lieberman today.  There are three ways you can help.

1. Forward this message to your friends.

Tell them to go to countdowntohealthcare.com to tell Senator Lieberman that we need a real public option to make health care affordable.

2. Click here to post countdowntohealthcare.com on Facebook with the following message:

I just signed Rep. Weiner's public option petition on http://countdowntohealthcare.com to support real health care reform. Will you join me? Please share this message with your friends!

3. Click here to post countdowntohealthcare.com on Twitter with the following message:

Join the movement! Tell Congress we want a real #publicoption. Join Rep. Weiner at http://countdowntohealthcare.com - Pls RT! #hrc

100,000 people from across the country will have a big impact. Please help us reach our goal right now so we can deliver our message to Senator Lieberman before he blocks our efforts.

Thanks,
Anthony

EMail Update From Sen. Boxer to DEFEAT STUPAK

Here is an Email Update from Sen. Boxer CA with a petition action to DEFEAT STUPAK's BACK-DOOR ABORTION PROHIBITION amendment....And if that doesn't work here is a suggestion and challenge to all WOMEN OF AMERICA: If you are PRO-CHOICE WOMEN, make a pledge to PUT YOUR LADY PARTS ON LOCKDOWN, then the only women who might need an abortion will BE THOSE WOMEN TRYING TO KILL CHOICE for ALL WOMEN!!

And a personal message to Mrs. Laurie Stupak, wife of Rep. Bart Stupak from LLPrater:

Mrs. Stupak, Please take YOUR LADY PARTS off the shelf and clean out the cobwebs, SO YOUR HUSBAND WILL KEEP HIS HANDS OUT OF MINE!!!

Dear Laura Lynne,
Ten days ago, the House passed the Stupak Amendment, which would be one of the biggest setbacks to women's health in recent decades - unless we stand together and stop it.

That's why we are launching a petition at www.FightForWomensHealth.com, because women must not be denied access to safe and legal medical procedures.

Will you join us? Click here to stand with us to protect women's health and help remove the anti-choice Stupak Amendment from the final health care reform bill:

www.FightForWomensHealth.com

For decades, a very difficult and delicate compromise has held firm: Women can use their own private funds for legal reproductive health care procedures, but federal funds cannot be used for abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the mother.

But in a stunning turn of events, anti-choice House members passed the Stupak Amendment as part of the health care reform bill and shattered that compromise.

The House amendment would tell women who participate in the new health insurance exchange that they can't even use their own funds to buy a policy that includes abortion coverage.

In short, the Stupak Amendment would take away health insurance coverage that women already have. This would be a huge step back for women's health.

You know I will be there speaking out on this issue at every stage of the process and everywhere I can. But as the details of the Senate's health care bill are worked out, we need to be sure that all our voices are heard clearly on this issue.

Please stand with us to protect women's health and help remove the Stupak Amendment from the final health care bill. Sign our petition now.

www.FightForWomensHealth.com

The Stupak Amendment is dangerous and unnecessary.

The original health reform bill did not change current abortion policy and already had a prohibition on the use of federal funds to pay for abortion services.

But that wasn't good enough for the anti-choice forces. They want to use health care reform as an excuse to turn back the clock on women's health. We need to speak out now.

How can we tell women that they will lose coverage that they already have? How can we tell women that they can't buy insurance coverage for a legal health care procedure, even if it's paid for with their own money?

The Stupak Amendment is discriminatory, extreme, and just plain wrong.

We cannot let it stand. Sign our petition now.

Thank you so much for joining us in this critical fight for women's health.

In friendship,

Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator

P.S. After you've signed our petition urging defeat of the Stupak Amendment, please forward this email to everyone you know. We need thousands of Americans to stand with us to win.

Dick Cheney IS COMPLETELY Full of CRAP

Here is a petition alert that has been copied in its entirety. You may need to copy/paste the links, but definitely worth the effort!

Subject: Prosecute Dick Cheney for Perjury Dear Friend,

Dick Cheney is full of crap. And I'm helping build a movement to fight back, demand he's held accountable, and...build the world's biggest pile of crap in his honor. (No kidding)

Won't you join me, and help me build it?

Dick's full of crap. There's just no other way to explain his actions of the last few years, and it's time that he's held accountable for it. His lies may have led us to war, trashed the Constitution, and damaged America for years to come. And all evidence indicates that he is still intent on hiding the truth.

According to a recent New York Times article, discussing Cheney's interview with a special prosecutor investigating the "outing" of a secret CIA operative: "Cheney had displayed 'an astonishing inability to recollect even simple facts.'" And "Some of the assertions by Mr. Cheney in his interview with the prosecutor on May 8, 2004, appeared to conflict with testimony at the 2007 trial of his chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby Jr."

It's time we learn the truth.

Visit right now, sign the petition, and join me in calling for a full investigation of Vice President Cheney for perjury, and for him to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if he is found guilty.

http://act.credoaction.com/campaign/dicksfullofcrap/?r_by=-2372083-DOWehUx&rc=confemail1

For each signature we get, we will literally donate one heaping pile of crap in his honor. For real. But don't worry -- it's good crap. In fact, it's top quality manure, that we will be donating to farmers in developing countries, to use as fertilizer. So you can make a point and do some good at the same time, just by signing the petition.

Visit right now, sign the petition, and join me in calling for a full investigation of Vice President Cheney for perjury, and for him to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if he is found guilty.

Mobilize for Health Care For All Update on "Lieberman 9"

Visit the link lots of art...
http://www.mobilizeforhealthcare.org

Here's my email update in its entirety, and to all our team I say that in spite of the concessions that were made, you all show the heart and souls of true Warrior-Poets...and we may still embrace this historical moment in history and work diligently and vigilently to make Health Care Reforms that pass today become the stepping stones towards Universal Health Care tomorrow!

Dear Laura Lynne,

Yesterday morning, Mobilization for Health Care for All made another urgent demand to get insurance money out of our democracy so that real reform will not be blocked in America. It is unacceptable that 45,000 Americans dies every year because of lack of access to health care.

Nine advocates for Medicare for All were arrested in a patients not profits sit-in in Senator Joseph Lieberman's office. Lieberman, known as the Senator for Aetna - his number 9 largest contributor, has taken $2.6 million in the last decade from the health sector including the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.

Two advocates remain in jail refusing to cooperate by not providing identification. Kai Newkirk, national coordinator of the Mobilization, is fasting and is in the DC jail, along with John Morhbacher of Connecticut.

Their demand is clear - publicly pledge to stop taking money from the insurance industry. Join their demand by clicking here to sign a petition to Sen. Lieberman.

When Kevin Zeese, Esq. director of ProsperityAgenda.US met with our colleagues in the cell block, Morhbacker, a member of the Army Reserve in Connecticut, described his senator "as an example of the obstructionists who prevent consideration of Medicare for All."

Newkirk explains that "as long as insurance corporation money is contributed to politicians like Lieberman they will prevent common sense solutions like Medicare for All that meet the moral standard that everyone should have access to health care." Newkirk explains further why he risked arrest to challenge Lieberman in the video in this email. Please share this email and the video with your friends, family and networks.

Thousands have already signed the petition to strengthen our numbers. Please join them and ask your friends to do the same. And, some media has taken notice, including ABC national news. Let's continue to build the Mobilization so the media cannot ignore our cry for real health care reform.

On Tuesday Kai and John will return to court. Please donate now to help with bail, legal, and other support. More actions are being planned to continue to build the pressure and more are waiting in line to sit-in, risk arrest and ensure our demands are heard! If you have not already signed up to risk arrest or participate in the Mobilization you can do so here.

What you can do:

1. Sign the petition urging Lieberman to stop taking insurance money. Click here to sign the petition now. Urge everyone you know to sign the petition.

2. Make a donation to support the Mobilization. Donate for bail money and jail support for those arrested in Lieberman's office.

3. Call Lieberman and tell him to stop taking insurance money. His numbers are: (202) 224-4041and (860) 549-8463.

4. Keep organizing in your area! Share this email with everyone you know.

Senator Lieberman is keeping good citizens in jail so he can continue to take money from the insurance industry. Imagine that - while the senate is considering insurance legislation, Lieberman insists on taking insurance money. The pay to play corruption of the health care debate is on display in Washington, DC and Lieberman is the poster boy for insurance corruption.

In 2009, Aetna has already spent over $2 million dollars lobbying for health care "reform" that protect their profits ahead of the health of Americans. Elected officials need to know that voters are aware of their corruption for accepting this money and they will pay a political price for their corruption.

Thousands of you have joined in struggle across our nation. Hundreds have risked arrest. Our numbers are growing by the day. Let's all do our part for Kai and John - let's build this Mobilization so Americans who want real health care reform cannot be ignored.

Demand Lieberman get our friends out of jail by publicly pledging to no longer accept money from health insurance companies that are the real death panels--killing democracy, killing us.

Please sign the petition, and donate what you can.

Thank you for joining the fight for Health Care for ALL!

Sincerely,

The Mobilization Team

For the Fallen...

For The Fallen...

In the wake of the horrific violence at Fort Hood today, we honor the fallen, and pray for the wounded and broken souls and for all who were left behind to ask why...
We offer our love and prayers and the flag above our home will remain at half-staff in their memory. God Bless and keep you all.

SIT-IN ALERT!! 8 in LIEberman's Office NOW!!

JUST IN BREAKING NEWS FROM MOBILIZATION TEAM!!!

Dear Laura Lynne,

As we send this out 8 people are sitting-in the office of Sen. Joseph Lieberman demanding that he stop taking money from the insurance industry. The massive campaign donations and lobbying spending of the insurance industry is blocking real reform that would provide everyone in America with access to health care. When 45,000 people are dying annually due to lack of health care it is a moral imperative that America act now to provide health care to all. We are able to do this for senior citizens, why not for all Americans?

Please take the following steps:

1. Call Lieberman and tell him to stop taking insurance money. His numbers are: (202) 224-4041and (860) 549-8463.

2. Sign the petition urging Lieberman to stop taking insurance money. Click here to sign the petition now. Urge everyone you know to sign the petition.

3. Make a donation to support the Mobilization. Donate for bail money for those sitting in Lieberman's office.

Since beginning just over one month ago thousands have signed up to participate in "Patients before Profits" sit-ins and over 920 have signed up willing to risk arrest. By the end of this week the Mobilization will have held 32 sit-ins in 28 different cities with more than 150 arrests and over 220 risking arrest. We started out wanting 100 people to risk arrest at "patients before profits" sit-ins and now more than 920 have done so. The Mobilization needs to continue to grow in order to achieve health care for all.

There is anger growing in the country at the failure of Congress to put forward a national health care plan that provides health care to everyone in the United States. It is important that people speak out now to push Congress and the president to achieve this urgent moral imperative. When President Obama ran for office he raised hopes in Americans that health policy would be reformed so that no one would go without health care. When the reform process began he talked about universal coverage now millions will go without health care access ten years from after the reform bill is passed. That is unacceptable. We need to demand that health care reform achieve the basic goal - that no one go without health care in a country as wealthy as America. We can achieve that goal if we speak up now and demand action. The United States has been effectively providing health care to senior citizens for 40 years through Medicare, we can do the same for everyone.

Thank you for your support. Please take action now.

Sincerely,

The Mobilization Team

Email Update from Daniel Hodges - Manager's Amendment is UP

Email Update from Dan Hodges....Psssst, pass it on....

"Pelosi 12" 11/4 Chronicle Follow-Up

Article courtesy of SF Chronicle 11/4/09:

12 protesters arrested in Pelosi's office
Victoria Colliver, Chronicle Staff Report
Nov 04, 2009

(11-03) 17:03 PST SAN FRANCISCO  -- Federal police on Tuesday arrested 12 supporters of a single-payer health care system who entered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco offices and refused to leave until they talked to the congresswoman.

Police arrested them for creating a disturbance on federal property nearly three hours after they entered Pelosi's offices. Pelosi was not in the office and did not talk to them by telephone.

The protesters, who are in favor of a system administered by the federal government but delivered by private health care providers, entered the waiting room of Pelosi's offices about 11:45 a.m. and were arrested around 2:30 p.m., according to Pam Allen, an attorney with the California Nurses Association.

The activists were protesting the lack of a vote over a "Medicare for All" amendment proposed in the House bill.

Those arrested were cited, released and ordered to appear before a federal judge.

PELOSI 12 ARRESTED IN SIT-IN

Was saddened and infuriated at EMail I received from Dan Hodges detailing the Health Care Sit-In that took place in Nancy Pelosi's SF Office this afternoon. Here it is:

Around 3PM this afternoon I was one of 12 single payer activists who were
escorted from the reception area of Nancy Pelosi's office in the San
Francisco Federal Building and arrested by members of the Federal Protection
Service of U.S. Homeland Security.

Just before noon we went to Pelosi's office to ask Dan Bernal, the district
director, make a phone call either to Pelosi herself or Terri McCullough,
Pelosi's chief of staff in Washington. We wanted to directly communicate two
demands: that the Kucinich amendment be included in the health care bill
that will soon be brought to a vote in the House and that the Weiner
amendment be voted on by the House, as previously promised by Pelosi.

For two hours Bernal refused to meet with any of us. Then he called in the
police and had them arrange for a meeting with himself and three of us in
the reception area. The doors between the reception area and the hallway
were closed. Two policemen stayed in the room. The other activists and other
police stood outside the closed doors in the hallway. Instead of working out
how a call could be made so that we could discuss our demands, Bernal
promptly and brusquely said he'd just listen to what we wanted and then all
of us had to leave the building. As soon as we said that wasn't why we had
agreed to the police's conditions to meet with him, Bernal broke off the
meeting, left the reception area and went back inside the locked doors to
his office.

Then the police took us from Pelosi's office on the second floor to the
basement, where they processed our arrests. Because Bernal was too cowardly
to file an official complaint, an elaborate charade was worked out by
Bernal, building management and the Federal Protection Service. The
misdemeanor charged against all of us was based on a technicality: our
singing and chanting for single payer was not in accord with the rules and
regulations of the federal building. This technicality was then extended to
mean that we had "disobeyed" the police officers. We were issued citations
and told that we would be summoned to court later. Then we were dismissed
from the building.

From noon until we emerged from the basement with our citations in hand,
there was a spirited rally for single payer taking place across the street.
The demonstrators included a large contingent of members of the California
School Employees Association, some of whom had come from Sacramento and
Stockton. The rally also included members of California Nurses Association
and Single Payer Now.

The "Pelosi Twelve" are members of organizations such as ActforSinglePayer,
AFSCME District Council 57, California Alliance of Retired Americans,
California School Employees Association, Gray Panthers, and Health Care for
All-California.

All of us today, those who were arrested and those who rallied in support of
us, will keep fighting to get the Kucinich amendment in the House health
care bill. And we'll keep fighting to win single payer in California and the
nation. Republicans, Blue Dog Democrats or sell-out Democrats, like Nancy
Pelosi, will not prevent us from succeeding.

Follow-up with George Warren (continued)

Ok, so instead of below, let's try above original post...

EMail Response from KXTV10's George Warren:

I think the point of your letter is that it's bad everywhere.  I'm sorry to hear about the problems in your neighborhood.

We weren't drawn to the Rancho Murieta story because it involves a luxury neighborhood.  Our interest is in the appearance of back-door dealing.

If this happened in your neighborhood and I was made aware of it, I would be down there tomorrow.

Thanks for writing.

George

To: Warren, George
Subject: Rancho Murietta Foreclosed Home Story

Mr. Warren,
Does this kind of story have to happen in a "luxury neighborhood" to become a relative news story?
So these homeowners are angry because a foreclosed property sold for pennies on the dollar? Boo-Hoo! What a privileged little enclave they must have up there in Rancho Murietta! Unfortunately, it's really difficult to muster up a lot of sympathy for lost home equity since I live in Stockton, and it has been an everyday REALITY for a LARGE percentage of people in our community, our block in particular. We have had 9 foreclosures on our block in the past 18 months, 2 of them currently sitting right next door vacant. The other 7 have since been flipped into rentals by absentee landlords. You want to talk real loss of equity? In May 2007, our property was appraised at 275,000 when we settled into our 30yr fixed mortgage after almost 8yrs of being ripped off by Option One and the ARM we were forced into when we bought this house in  Jan. 1999. As it sits now, we have lost almost 150,000 in EQUITY and the meter is still running...Remember those 2 foreclosures next door? One is listed for 74,000 and the other one for 64,000! And if you are really looking for a story to get indignant about, our neighbor Jeff just had to move out of the family home he was renting from his parents when foreclosure hit. But in spite of the fact that he was eager and financially qualified to purchase the home he was living in, the lender refused to negotiate with him because he was a relative. So now we have lost a great friend and neighbor, and have had to endure a parade of potential homebuyers that resemble an Al-Quaeda sleeper cell looking at this property smack dab in the middle of our formerly tightknit little neighborhood! Betcha the good citizens of Rancho Murietta would REALLY have their knickers in a knot about that as well, and for that I would sympathize. So, cry me a river Rancho Murietta, with your ivory towers and country club crap! It does afford me a small amount of cold comfort to know that hard times can devastate anyone, anywhere, and this time around it even seems to be hitting The Haves right alongside The Have-Nots!

Follow-Up With KXTV10's George Warren

George Warren broke a story about potential back-door insider dealing surrounding the purchase of a foreclosed home in the luxury country club community of Rancho Murieta on 11/2. Apparently remaining homeowners are up in arms about a million dollar "McMansion" that sold for pennies on the dollars to the son of an employee of the bank who owned the property....Given what has happened in our neighborhood, I was inspired to email Mr. Warren on the subject, and he was kind enough to reply. I have included both in their entirety below.

There Goes The Neighborhood...

This is a story about a guy with a huge heart and a pure soul named Jeff. He is just your average, all-around good guy that has been our neighbor since we moved here 10 years ago. His parent's (he later began renting it after his parents moved) home is 2 doors down and they had lived there all their lives, and a person could not ask for lovelier neighbors...
A couple of weeks ago we found out that Jeff's family home became a tragic statistic in the area's foreclosure crisis. This news saddens me deeply. Our neighborhood will never be quite the same without his presence.
This situation could have turned out differently if only the lender would have been willing to work with a family member...
We would also like to publicly thank Jeff and Tom for going above and beyond helping us clear the top of a tree off our roof in the middle of the nastiest storms we've had in years!! Couldn't have done it without you!
Jeff, our prayers are with you and your family, and no matter where you may go, you will always be our favorite neighbor!

EMail Update from Rep. Alan Grayson

Here is today's "money bomb" update from Rep. Alan Grayson in its entirety...BOMBS AWAY DUDE!!
Dear Laura Lynne,
You are making it happen. In the few hours since I last wrote to you, our money bomb has really taken off. All told, we've received over $400,000 in donations so far.

That's a good start, and the momentum is taking hold, but that means the punditry is watching even closer than before to see if we have what it takes to really knock this out of the park.

I know that we do. But to prove it, I need you to stand with me, right now, and make a contribution of any amount to my money bomb.

If you do that, it will be an important validation of our push to bring a fighting spirit of reform to Washington, one that I hope is an example for all of my colleagues.

As Markos Moulitsas, founder of Daily Kos, said when discussing our work for an article published this morning in the Gainesville Sun:

"He is certainly among the best using online tools and communities in getting his message out, but his real strength isn't the use of tools, it's the message. [...] He stands for something and isn't afraid to fight for it. In Washington today, that is depressingly rare."

Markos is right: It is depressingly rare. And that's exactly why I need you to make your contribution now -- to show my colleagues that fighting for something isn't just good policy. It's good politics.

Thank you for all of your help.

Best,

Alan Grayson

Rep. Alan Grayson E-Mail Update

Hey people, just got this email from Fl. Rep. Alan Grayson and I am sharing it here in its entirety. Rep. Grayson's tireless and relentless efforts to keep true Health Care Reform on life support MUST BE ENCOURAGED AND SUSTAINED!! His "Names of the Dead" website is a BEAUTIFUL way TO HONOR THE DEAD and TELL THEIR STORIES, and RAISE THEIR VOICES UP SO WASHINGTON MAY HEAR THEM LOUD AND CLEAR!! http://www.namesofthedead.com

Here is Rep. Grayson's update in its entirety:

Dear Laura Lynne,
It's been a long time since someone was willing to meet Republicans toe to toe. Then I showed up, and now they're running scared.

But scared Republicans, unlike some Democrats, don't just lie down and take it. They lie, cheat, and bluster as hard as they can to try and make what scares them go away.

Fox News stalker Griff Jenkins set up shop outside my office. Bill O'Reilly went on TV and called me "out of control." The Florida GOP is desperately looking for an opponent to take me on in 2010. Wingnuts far and wide have launched websites called everything from "Alan Disgrayson" to "My Congressman Is Nuts" to try and drum up support and money for my opponents and distract from the issues at hand.

But I'm not backing down -- I'm working harder than ever before for the reform our country needs. And with your help, on Monday, we can show everyone that doing just that is the best defense against thuggish Republican scare tactics.

Make a pledge to join tomorrow's money bomb -- and show the Fox News chattering heads we're not backing down until we get what we want.

Already tomorrow is shaping up to be a day of momentous collective action. That's what makes a money bomb work: thousands of people standing up and saying they will not tolerate the status quo. And not only that, they're willing to put their financial support behind a candidate that speaks for them.

That's who I aim to be -- a fighter for you. Since I launched CongressmanWithGuts.com earlier this month, more than 3,000 people have pledged over $250,000 toward my campaign. That is phenomenal, but we need to do something truly dramatic to break the Republican logjams in Washington and put a fork in the naysayers. That's why I need you to keep fighting with me.

Make a pledge to join tomorrow's money bomb -- and show the Fox News chattering heads we're not backing down until we get what we want.

Thank you for joining me in the fight. Your strength and support is truly amazing, and I can't thank you enough.

Sincerely,
Alan Grayson
